How We Use AI to Guarantee a Perfect Clean

When you hire a cleaner, you are trusting someone you have never met to do a thorough job in a space you care about. Most of the time you are not even home. You come back and just hope it was done properly.

That is not good enough for us. So we built a system around it.

Before the clean

When you book with Nett, our system builds a checklist specific to your space based on which rooms you selected and any notes you added. That checklist goes to your cleaner before they arrive. There is no guessing about what was requested.

During the clean

Our cleaners follow a room-by-room process and take a photo of each area before they start. This creates a clear record of the state of your home when they arrived.

After the clean

When the job is done, your cleaner takes after photos of each area. Those go to you by email within minutes of finishing. You can see exactly what was done before you even walk in the door.

If something looks off in those photos, we know before you do and we reach out first. You should never have to chase us about a quality issue.

Why this matters

Most cleaning companies have no accountability mechanism after the cleaner leaves. If something was missed, you find out when you get home, then have to call, explain, and wait for a reschedule. We wanted to remove that friction entirely.

The photo system is not complicated. It just requires everyone to follow it consistently. That is what we hold our team to.

The 10-Minute Weekly Reset That Keeps Your Home Clean

Between professional cleans, things pile up. A few dishes here, some mail there, shoes by the door. None of it takes long to deal with individually. The problem is it never happens individually.

The solution is a fixed 10-minute routine on the same day every week.

Pick one day and commit to it

Sunday evening works well for most people. The week is winding down and you get to start Monday in a clean space. Whatever day you choose, treat it like a standing appointment.

The routine

Minutes 1-2: Clear surfaces. Put things back where they belong. Mail, remotes, cups, chargers. Do not clean yet, just clear.

Minutes 3-4: Wipe down the kitchen. Counter, stovetop, sink. A damp cloth is all you need if you are doing this weekly.

Minutes 5-6: Bathroom surfaces. Sink, tap, mirror. A quick wipe every week means you never have buildup to deal with.

Minutes 7-8: Quick vacuum or sweep of high-traffic areas only. Entrance, kitchen, living room.

Minutes 9-10: Reset the bedroom. Make the bed, put laundry in the basket, clear the nightstand.

That is it

This routine keeps your home in a state where a professional clean actually cleans rather than catching up on a week of neglect. Your cleaner can focus on the deep work. You stay on top of the day-to-day.

Move Out Cleaning Checklist: Get Your Full Deposit Back

Most tenants lose part of their deposit over things that could have been caught in an hour. Landlords in Ontario check specific things and they check them carefully.

Kitchen

Inside the oven and stovetop are the most common reasons for deductions. Pull the burner grates and soak them. Clean inside the oven with a proper oven cleaner. Wipe the inside of the fridge including the shelves and drawers. Clean inside all cabinets and drawers. Check the range hood filter.

Bathrooms

Grout is what landlords look at first. If there is mould in the grout it needs to come out. Use a grout cleaner and a stiff brush. Clean the toilet thoroughly including under the rim and behind the base. Remove soap scum from the shower and tub. Make sure the exhaust fan cover is clean.

Walls and baseboards

Scuffs on walls are normal wear and tear in Ontario and landlords cannot charge for them. But actual marks, stains, or holes are fair game. Check every wall in good lighting. Baseboards collect dust and get overlooked. Wipe them all down.

Floors

Vacuum every room including corners and under furniture. Mop hard floors. Check for any stains on carpet, which are the most expensive deductions.

The three things people always miss

Light fixtures with dead bulbs. Window tracks full of dirt. The inside of the dishwasher. Check all three and you are ahead of most tenants.

When to call a professional

If the unit has not been deep cleaned in a while, a professional move-out clean is worth the cost. You pay once and get the deposit back. Nett covers Markham, Richmond Hill, Scarborough, Toronto, Vaughan, Stouffville, Toronto, Vaughan, and Stouffville.

Why Your Office Cleanliness Is Affecting Your Team More Than You Think

You probably do not think much about office cleanliness until something is visibly wrong. A dirty kitchen, dusty desks, an overflowing bin. By that point, the impact on morale has already been building for a while.

What people notice without saying anything

Most employees will not tell their manager that the office feels grimy. They will just feel vaguely worse about being there. Research on workplace environment consistently shows that physical space affects mood, focus, and how seriously people take their work.

A clean, well-maintained office signals that the people running the company pay attention to details. A neglected one signals the opposite. Your team picks up on that whether they realise it or not.

What clients notice

If a client visits your office, their first impression is formed before anyone says a word. A clean, organised space creates confidence. A sticky kitchen counter visible from the boardroom creates doubt.

This matters most for businesses in professional services. Law firms, financial advisors, clinics. Your environment is part of your brand.

The practical case for regular cleaning

Consistent professional cleaning costs less than most people think. A medium-sized office in Markham cleaned bi-weekly runs between $300 and $500 a month depending on size. That is a small line item against what you are paying in rent and salaries.

Cleaning Products That Are Actually Safe Around Kids and Pets

Most cleaning products are designed to be rinsed off or to dry before anyone comes in contact with them. The problem is that does not always happen in practice. Kids touch surfaces right after they are wiped. Pets walk across freshly mopped floors and lick their paws.

What to avoid

Bleach-based products leave residue that is hard on skin and airways, especially for young children and small animals. Ammonia-based cleaners are similarly harsh and the fumes linger. Products with artificial fragrance often contain compounds that are not well tested for long-term safety.

What actually works

White vinegar and water handles most general surface cleaning. It works on counters, appliances, and glass. The smell dissipates within minutes.

Castile soap is plant-based and safe for almost all surfaces. A few drops in water cleans floors effectively without leaving anything harmful behind.

Hydrogen peroxide is a good disinfectant for bathrooms and kitchens. It breaks down into water and oxygen so there is no residue once it dries.

What we use at Nett

We use plant-based, fragrance-free products across all our residential cleans. If you have specific requirements or prefer a particular product, add it to your booking notes and we will use it.

Spring Cleaning in Markham: What to Tackle First and What to Skip

Spring cleaning has a reputation for being a weekend-destroying project. The reason is most people try to do everything at once without a plan. You spend three hours reorganising a closet and the kitchen still has not been touched.

Start with what accumulates over winter

In Markham winters, salt and mud get tracked inside for months. The entrance, hallway, and any hard floors near exterior doors should be the first thing you deep clean. Scrub the floors properly, not just a quick mop. Wipe down the walls near the entrance where coats brush against them.

Then do windows

Windows that have been closed all winter have condensation residue on the frames and sills. Clean the glass inside and out, wipe the sills, and check the tracks for mould. This one change makes a significant difference in how a home feels because it lets actual light in.

Refrigerator and oven

Pull the fridge out and vacuum the coil at the back. It takes 10 minutes and makes your fridge run more efficiently. While it is out, clean behind and under it. Do the oven while you are in the kitchen. These two appliances are the most neglected in most homes.

What you can skip

Reorganising storage areas unless they are genuinely dysfunctional. Cleaning things that are already clean. Moving furniture to vacuum underneath it unless you have pets. These are the things that eat time without making a visible difference.

When to call someone

If the list feels like more than a weekend, it probably is. A professional deep clean handles the high-effort items in a fraction of the time. Book one to reset the baseline and maintain from there.
